What Is Plunder?

Plunder is an art inspired pirate themed festival, a side step from every other festival under the sun that spreads its wings from shore to shore. Every festival seems to aim at "how many bands can we stack on one stage", "How many people can we push through the gates". These events seem to be helping people forget what it should be all about. Plunder is not trying to get the music so the people can come together, Plunder is getting the people together so the people can come together. Plunder is about creation, and Plunder is about you.... The every day pirate.

Music is by far one of the greatest art creations we have ever made.... BUT THERE IS SO MUCH MORE OUT THERE!!!!

Plunder wants you to explore your creative side and URGES you with every ounce of yourself to build on it. CREATE INTERACTIVENESS!!! BUILD ON PLUNDER ISLE!!!

Plunder is just the pirate island you land on. The journey is that of what you make of it. What would you like to see on plunder? sharks? space pirate ship crash landings? midnight pirate alien disco? You can help create plunder to be every ounce of your dream Isle!

Mystik Toyz will be returning to the Grateful Garcia Gathering, but with a whole lot more fun this time... A prominent positive force at all the festivals, Mystik Toyz is always on a mission to teach toys, entertain, and inspire people to play! You can expect Fire Shows, Wandering Entertainment such as Mr Fun on stilts, maybe a parade and, of course, an ongoing "Spin Zone" where you can play any time of the day (or night). Jam to toys as you jam to the music and have some FUN!

Hey now, can you believe it! The Grateful Garcia Gathering is now in its 7th year! Friends and fans come from all around to see and dance to some of the best jambands in the midwest honoring and paying tribute to the Grateful Dead's guitarist Jerry Garcia. This is a grateful place, where Garcia fans will be gathering once again this summer! It also marks the celebration of Jerry Garcia's 68th Birthday, plus its the 15th Anniversary of Jerry Garcia's untimely passing. But its also a time when many fans pay tribute to remember other Grateful Dead members like Ron "Pigpen" McKernan, Keith Godchaux, Brent Mydland, and Vince Welnick. We have leased the campground venue for July 29th though August 1st. 2010 for our 7th annual music festival. We're very pleased to have Melvin Seals of the "Jerry Garcia Band" performing for two nights two hour sets with "In the Dark", and "Elf Lettuce" along with guitarist Josh Daniels from "Jam and the Playground Kids" on July 30th though July 31st to rock all our kynd friends this summer! Melvin Seals is best known for his long friendship and musical partnership with cultural icon and guitarist Jerry Garcia and the smile of his that lights up the room. Melvin spun his B-3 magic with the Jerry Garcia Band for 18 years and in doing so helped pioneer and define what has now become "Jam Band Music".

Mystik Toyz will once again have lots of toys to play with at the FREE community event for PEACE.

A variety of wonderful stage acts, FREE food and a super fun parade around the park.

Mystik Toyz will have our Pyramid of Play set up and a spin zone happening all weekend long!

Mystik Toyz will have our spin zone out all day. Mr Fun will be leading a parade at 5pm and Feather and Lanae Butterfly, two fabulous faeries, will be face painting all day.
